For almost 50 years, Earth Day has been one day that everyone can come together in celebration of the sacredness of our planet, and our connections to it and each other. Continuing this tradition each year on April 22nd, we mark the anniversary of Earth Day in Spokane to celebrate the birth of the modern environmental movement on the date of the first Earth Day in 1970 when 22 million Americans came together to make a difference.
We are proud to announce some big changes this year for Spokane’s Annual EarthDay festival! This is a grassroots community effort that has exponentially grown in levels of artist, vendor, business, and community participation every year. This has always been an event that celebrates the diversity in our community by asking people from all cultures and walks of life to come together and celebrate one of the biggest things we all have in common; our planet. This year, due to participant and vendor requests, we have decided to double our festival in length and size!
